Ricci was the youngest of 4 children who were born to Sarah Murdoch and Ralph Ricci in Santa Monica, California. The mother of the family was former Ford Agency actress in the 1960s and later a real estate agent. Her father was lawyer, as well as the therapist for primal-screams. Ricci claimed she believes that her Italian family heritage is a consequence from her name. Five or six generations ago in the past, an Italian couple married one an Irish woman. They had all their sons born. The number of children grew and many Irish wives got married. Family members of Ricci's moved out of Italy and settled in Montclair, New Jersey. She was a student at Montclair High School as well as Montclair High School. After that, she attended Montclair High School, which is the Professional Children's School of New York City.
